Corey Taylor was born on September 8, 1973 in Des Moines, Iowa, and in 1997 Taylor received the proposal of Joey Jordison, Shawn Crahan, and Mick Thomson to join Slipknot, this happened while working, they took the opportunity to ask Corey if he would like to join Slipknot , after attending one of their rehearsals and ending up singing in front of them. after being asked if he would join the band for his melodic voice so his voice was transferred as lead vocals, and Anders Colsefni transferred as vocals and percussion. Colsefni left the band shortly after, after this decision when their first album called “slipknot” was released an attribute was made to Colsefni where within the album there is a photo of what they assume is Colsefni dismembered.

The reason why Slipknot wear masks is not because they want to remain with an anonymous identity, it is because it is part of their music and the vision they have, it is part of their culture and the shock that they cause, which fit with the artistic style to which we are addressed, it is like a uniform, It is a representation of the anti-image. Co-founder Shawn Crahan is the one who came up with the idea for Slipknot’s masks. The first mask he wore was like the typical mask from a horror movie.
