Magnum Photos is one of the highlights in European Photography

Magnum Photos is an organization that represents photographers from all over the world. Its members are independent artists who want to make photographs that go beyond magazine journalism. The collective was founded in 1947 by Robert Capa and four fellow photographers. His goal was to free himself from the shackles of magazine publishing and choose his topic independently. The founding myth of the organization is that the founders met at a MoMA restaurant  and decided to work together. In reality, only two of the five photographers were present at the meeting.

The history of the organization is long. In addition to its offices in New York, it has permanent offices in Paris, London, Paris and Tokyo. To become a member, photographers must pass a rigorous four-year selection process. Magnum members meet once a year in New York, London and Paris.

After the war, Magnum began working in other fields. The group’s success as photojournalists led to the creation of books and exhibitions. They also began experimenting with text and book design. Some of them began collaborating with filmmakers and other photographers. His photographs have gained international recognition.

The workshops will also give students the opportunity to gain experience working with Magnum photographers. They will also be able to attend lectures and participate in discussions with Magnum photographers. Throughout the workshop, students will practice their skills by participating in regular review sessions. The workshop will also include group criticism and constructive feedback. In addition, students will have the opportunity to exhibit their work online in web galleries.

Magnum Photos has been covering a variety of events around the world since its founding in 1947. In 1949, David ‘Chim’ Seymour filmed refugee children living in refugee camps. Images from this project have appeared in several publications, including Magnum Photobooks: The Catalog Raisonne.

Raymond Depardon is one of the highlights in European Photography

Raymond Depardon is an award-winning French photographer and photojournalist. In 1966, he co-founded the Gamma photo agency and photographed conflict zones in places like Algeria, Vietnam, Biafra and Chad. In 1978, he became a member of Magnum Photos and won the Grand Prix National de la Photographie. 1991 he won a César Award for Best Documentary Film. In 2020, it will launch a new series entitled Rural, which will be published by the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain.

The exhibition features more than 160 color photographs, many of which have never been published. These images were taken in places far removed from Depardon’s upbringing  on a farm in the Pyrenees. His first photographs were of his mother, her animals and farm equipment. Later, he moved to Paris and joined the photography agency Dalmas. Initially, the agency was dedicated to reporting local news and sporting events. He later expanded his portfolio and began to focus more on political issues and landscape photography.

In recent years, Depardon has been showing us the devastating impact of war. His early paintings evoke a sense of ruinous landscape. The most recent conflict images show the human element in war zones. His photographs of Beirut, for example, show us the humanity of war zones. These images are a good example of the artist’s mastery of color.

Depardon began photographing when he was in his early twenties, with a cheap camera given to him by his brother. He worked as an apprentice for the Dalmas news agency, where he sold his photographs to Paris Match. Finally, he bought a Rolleiflex camera  and began experimenting with color.
